Philippines Photo Essay: Few Days in Manila
Manila, I keep coming back to Manila. I know I’ll sound like a complete liar if I say I wasn’t looking forward to come home, even for a very short stay only. Yes, I was in Manila a few weeks for a very important business meeting, and instead of focusing on the impending work, I got lost in the idea of being back in Manila. I got lost in the idea of seeing familiar faces and relatively new places. I got lost in the surprise that’s about to happen. So, was it worth the justification? Well. Hell, yeah! Haha.
Manila is always all fun in a “riot” kind of way. So much chaos, corruption, and insurgence. But, these things are, more often than not, breathing grounds for character building. And, the successful ones are either really excellent, or really riot-ready. I don’t know if it’s because of the calamity, traffic, people, and really good food that gave me a refreshed perspective of the Phils. Probably, it was because of the SM Aura? Or the Ayala Avenue sessions? Or the overflowing Filipino Food. Ahhhh, life is good... even in Manila. Lol.
My visit was really short, but it was adequate to see the gold coins of changes that Inang Bayan is reaping. Yes, there are good changes that happened, and even at a snail’s pace, I’m glad PH is developing. Even if it has been a developing country for as long as I can remember, I’m still absolutely hopeful that this country will progress even better. Some random pics on some idiosyncratic changes of Manila.
