5 Best Online Singapore Food Guides

I am a silent worshipper of food photography too. In as much as I appreciate coffee and travel for all its all-around perfection, I just like the feeling of food bliss whenever I see all these drool-inducing photos of food. You know, it’s like a distinctive kind of art and culture, one that can be both a hobby and a skill.

And, speaking of hobbies, lately, I’ve been stealthily checking out food websites more often. Yes sir, even while at work. Man, how do I even find time? Lol. It’s slowly becoming innate nowadays, probably because, it sure is literally everywhere? From Instagram, to Facebook, and even in my dreams – all over the place. But, good thing about these food pictures and websites is that there are just some that are cut above the rest. There are online places that will literally take you into a different level of food fancy. You go to these websites, and the next thing you know – you’re paying for the bill, after having dined and wined in that resto. Lol. Thanks to these best and most favorite food guides, which I visit regularly, this food spotting (and food trying) hobby is slowly becoming a budding skill.

Lady Iron  Chef

Brad Lau is the god of all food blog gods here in Singapore and I appreciate his cohesively complete style of content writing and photography. It’s very easy to navigate around the Lady Iron Chef site, and everything you’ll need to know about the ins and outs of Singapore lifestyle. Food and a little bit of traveling here and there is shared here. You’ll see crisp and clear recommendations and pictures of the best and ideal choices for you. The site is all about food, drinks, and travel.

I Eat I Shoot I Post

Never waste your calories on yucky food. What an excellent mantra for such an established Singapore food guide site. Dr. Tay’s brainchild has become the most read food blog in Singapore. I think he clearly captures the Singapore crowd, primarily because of the versatility and diversity of food choices found in his site. You don’t need to pretend to be a food critic or what have you – you just have to look and pick. He’s into any kind of food, from hawker to posh restaurants, you name it. This makes his site an all-encompassing choice; and yes, won’t fail to mention that the quality of his pictures is really pleasant.

Hungry Go Where

The Hungry Go Where by InSing.com is my go to place when I like to do some extra research on the things I find in Lady Iron Chef and IEat. It’s like the Trip Advisor for Singapore food choices. Very informative stuff, with a lot of reviews and ratings from fellow readers, so the interaction makes it a little more interesting. The site shows information on restaurants, hawker food, bars, recipes, new openings, and even featured monthly deals.

Daniel Food Diary

Admittedly, one of the cleverest things about this site is that it’s owned by a fitness instructor who eats too much. The irony, hence, the cool combination. Aside from the faultless photographs of food, I like this site because it also includes some simple yet epic articles on food and Singapore culture. Helps me learn and appreciate the Singapore culture from a Singaporean’s perspective. Whoever says they’re emotionless must not have read awesome articles like the ones here.
