Of course, the fastest, cheapest, and easiest way to reach the MacRitchie Reservoir is via MRT. The nearest MRT station is at any of these MRT stations: Caldecott / Toa Payoh / Ang Mo Kio / Bishan / Marymount. It’s certainly a quick walk – a good prelude to the nonstop walk and hike that’s about to happen. It will take around 10-15 minutes from these. You can also do a combination of MRT and bus: 132, 163, 165, 166, 167, 640, 52 or 980.

One of the greatest facts about this place is that MacRitchie Reservoir is Singapore's oldest reservoir. Dating back 1868, it certainly has so much history and story to share, and you will feel these as you walk along the trails. Considering this and the fact that it’s a reservoir turned nature trail, the good thing about this is that it neither looks old nor dirty at all. It’s a vast, scenic embrace of nature and cleanliness is just too remarkable not to notice.

Aside from the obvious detail that there’s a great balance of nature and carefulness around the MacRitchie Reservoir Park - from the nature trailsheritage trails, guided toursfishing optionstree top walkrunning routes and resting areas, the place shows favor to the people who want to experience the place. Also, even in its simplest and plainest form, the reservoir shares interpretative signboards to make sure people are guided and safe. This shows how much they encourage people to fully enjoy the place. It’s a great place for meet ups, family gatherings, solo soul searching walks, couple adventures, and quiet afternoon leisure moments. Without question, these things make the MacRitchie Reservoir one of the best parks to see in Singapore.
