Cambugahay Falls in Siquijor Island

All these Once Upon A Time marathons make me think about all the travel adventures you can do in the Philippines. This country has a lot of yet-to-be popularized places that are truly striking as it is. One place is the Cambugahay Falls of Siquijor. It’s as if it was ripped off from a local folk tale – looks so surreal and mysterious. Probably because of the myths about Siquijor, or probably because the place is isolated from people. Should give you the creeps, but in a good way that is.

When you need to taboo the word QUAINT, the best word would have to be Siquijor! It just fits like a glove. The town is as quaint as a stained glass window. It’s not completely desolate, but neither is it populous. But one thing is absolute: Siquijor is scenic. It looks as if it was preserved properly. The Cambugahay Falls is the same. To reach this place, you have to go via trike and on foot after. Walking on rugged soils and leaping and staying balanced on slippery grounds. Once you reach the Cambugahay Falls, you’ll be put under a spell. Admiration trance is in town.

Imagine swimming in crystal clear waters, and having waterfall triplets as company. You’re surrounded with an enchanting forest setting, with nothing but bird songs and water tones to keep you untroubled. You can swim, camp out on daylight, and just enjoy the peaceful Cambugahay Falls. It’s one of those places that don’t require you to plan an elaborate experience. It’s more on the nirvana level of happiness that you’re after when chilling in Cambugahay.

The place itself is an instant favorite. If you’re a fan of eu-natural, then this one’s going to your list. Just like how we, you know, no need to elaborate with words, but let’s just say - it’s bare and it’s beautiful! (Now why did that sound a little awkward. LOL ) In any case, you don’t need to go bare when you go here; you have to be in full adventure gear. Be sure to wear the most comfortable foot gear that will ensure you won’t slip or fall. Be sure to try and dip into the waters because it’s one of the freshest feelings you’ll ever get out of this experience! Don’t forget to lock in your cameras and take good forest-falls shots too. Adventure trip in Siquijor should begin here. Let’s go!
