Gardens By The Bay in Bayfront, Of Supertree Grove and Flower Domes
By now you probably have confirmed that Singapore is a fan of all things garden. They are in fact one of the world’s best places to live in because they put a premium on having a healthy living environment. The newest and grandest addition to their ever growing garden collection is the Gardens By the Bay in Marina Bay area. Your trip to Singapore won’t entirely be all about modern city infrastructures anymore. Get to the Gardens!
Just like everything else in Singapore, best and most practical way to reach this modern garden is via MRT rides. Take the circle line and alight at the Bayfront Area. Don’t be confused and go down at the Marina Bay MRT as this will lead you somewhere around the Marina Bay area. Bayfront MRT leads you inside the Marina Bay Sands area, which is connected to the Gardens By the Bay. Ingenious right? Once you reach the stop, you will find signs that will lead you exactly at the Gardens By the Bay. There’s a new indoor tunnel-like walkway built specifically for the Gardens By the Bay. You’ll see layers of glass and garden themed wall murals around the area, which are pretty neat for photo ops.
Avatar meets concrete jungle. The Gardens By the Bay is one modern masterpiece. It kind of reminds me of Beijing’s Bird’s Nest in terms of style supremacy, but of course two are incomparable as they are completely different structures. Nonetheless, they look physically perfect. Breathe of fresh air literally! Lots of new floras to find out. The mix of modernization and garden aesthetics is interesting enough, but the Gardens By the Bay brought the wonder to a different level of indulgence. With Flower Domes, Groves, Gardens, and Lakes - it’s definitely a must see in person kind of place. It’s a good place for themed pictorials, flower gazing, insect expeditions, and plants tours.
There’s actually no entrance fee when you enter the general area of the garden. You only need to pay when you want to go up to the giant Supertree Groves or the Flower Domes. So if you’re on a budget, it’s still a good place to go to as there are parts that are free! The area is packed with different themes and a few extra interesting surprises so be sure to check out every inch of the place. Another tip, be sure to go on off peaks, preferably on weekdays to avoid the ant-like feeling with the rest of the crowd. The place can be packed with so many people due to its well-deserved popularity. One last tip: find that spot where you can take a picture of the best of both worlds of Singapore: Marina Bay Sands and the Gardens By the Bay views. Singapore Sanctuary!
