The Beihai Park in Beijing is World Class
Beijing is known for being the popular old school ancient China, where every royalty, dynasty-induced principle, and historical revolution emerged. It’s where all the imperial idealism and cultural perfection came to be. It’s where the strength and quality of Chinese values toward love for country became known. One absolute proof of this is the Beihai Park. It’s one of the grandest, biggest, earliest and best-preserved royal gardens in the whole of China – in fact, one of the earliest-built in the whole world.
Writers, photographers, and history lovers get lured in by this magnificent place as it has over a thousand years worth of history. Each corner and gap of the north, east, west, south wings are perfectly balanced with overbearing trees, grand garden doors, serene lake views, and plush pavilions. While the center area of the park is Jade Flowery Islet, the park’s ultimate royal highlight.
It’s not all about flora and structura; it’s also about a good balance of tails and feathers. You’ll see swans and ducks performing around the lakeside. You’ll hear different blends of winds and chirps. You’ll feel the laughter from kids playing. You’ll understand the quiet and satisfied smiles from parents and grandparents from all walks of life. Now that’s what you call: new stories being shaped out of history.
There are also exhibitions, shops, restaurants, and street performances around the park to keep it close to reality. You'll see picture shows, galleries, boat rentals, souvenir shops, artists sharing painting skills, and some siu mai selling around the area.
One of the personal favorite highlights of the place is the Jade Flowery Islet. This Qiong Islet is enshrined with statues of Buddha made of colorful glaze. Around this elevated islet, you'd be given a glimpse of the panoramic masterpiece that is Beihai. You’ll see how the artistic trees stand tall with the rest of the temples and halls, and all other details that are left to be seen and appreciated.
Winter, spring, summer, and fall - every season presents a different mood and respect for the Beihai Park, but all with the same purpose: to exalt the Chinese indisputable genius for valuing their rich history and resources.
