Leaving is Living

Leaving is Living
Not just in traveling but in life
as well, one fundamentally sad part to go through is to leave (to go away, depart,
or set out). Though simple as it may seem, the
overall experience of leaving can be harder than others. It’s a bittersweet
feeling and the aftermath can take on a whole different dimension, especially
if we get so attached to that “thing” – be it a person, a place, a memory, a
relationship, or even an emotion. That is because the heart so much
refuses to let go of the happiness and fulfillment it has brought us, and that
is what makes it so much harder to let go.
But as we wander and gather
experiences, we realize that leaving is not entirely about sadness. Leaving is also a commemoration of all the
life, love, and bliss that the experience brought us. It marks a start of
hope-filled beginnings; it gives us realizations and opportunities for newer
experiences. Knowing how to leave and let go is an
opportunity for us to bounce back as better persons.
Everything is about comings and
goings. All is temporary. That is why we are reminded to make every moment
count – to seize chances. Carpe Diem.
And this is a tribute to a very special friend for more than a
decade, who is now fervently chasing her dreams and creating new
footprints somewhere around this world. She’s gone through a lot in her life
than most people her age, but despite everything, she’s still the biggest
advocate of seizing moments and making every mundane minute matter. One of the countless proofs on how simple yet thoughtful
she can get. :-)
Thank you for teaching the value of
leaving and letting go. We have spent
countless unbelievable moments of laughter, heartache, craziness, and
once-in-a-lifetime experiences together. Now, we are finally leaving this
blissful phase in our life-routine to welcome our newfound beginnings. Although now, I’ll be celebrating
birthdays without you… this is the new reality. I’ll miss
everything, but I’ll miss you the most. But hey, I know we’ll make
everything work. See you on the flip side. Always take care.

Nice post! :)
ReplyDeleteIndeed, leaving is the start of new beginnings. It may be sad at first, but this inevitable thing makes us stronger and teaches us new perspectives. Knowing how to leave is knowing how to start. What's important is to take all the lessons we learned and value the people who helped us get through.
Also, isn't it nice to know that you can physically leave without emotionally leaving your friends and love ones behind? A test of friendship and closeness it is. :)
senior lola hahahahaha you got me there! :) "Knowing how to leave is knowing how to start." - I could not have said it better. Thank you and talk to you soon :)
